ENDURO Mountainbike Magazine

Bike magazine has been my go to since issue #1, but they only put out so much. The photography and layout of Enduro is top notch. I do wish I could pinch zoom on the photos, but that’s a niggling detail. Seeing things through a big mountain European filter is a immensely enjoyable. Thanks so much for all the hard work to keep the stoke going. I’m not sure why it’s free; I’d gladly pay a subscription for such unique and well-presented content.

The biggest reason why I give this app five stars is because the content is fantastic. The bike reviews have been very helpful as I have journeyed towards a new mountain bike. The technical how to guides are fantastic as an example in this issue #38 there is a huge suspension set up article that is going to be really helpful. As far as the app itself goes I have had nothing but positive experiences with it. It works great both on my iPad and iPhone. The navigation is intuitive. I like the fact that you have to download the magazine in order to read it. I like being able to download on Wi-Fi and then take it off-line. They also do a good job of making what used to be a print medium fit with in the digital space. Articles and pictures are screen sized and things just seem to work.

The digital content is fantastic. No complaints. The interface of the app is, for the most part, quite intuitive. The layout of the digital magazine has evolved over the issues and if you look at early issues, the layout does not flow as well. The app does crash frequently when you attempt to download issues to your device. Sometimes this cancels your progress in the download, other times the issue is downloaded upon relaunch. I wish that orientation was not not locked to landscape mode. The pages aren’t formatted that way and on a phone, the viewing window is too small. I’m sure on an iPad it would be great.
