Very disappointing experience. I purchased a giffgaff SIM card recently, but during this period the SIM was mostly switched off and there was no long-term roaming usage as claimed. Despite this, giffgaff suddenly terminated my service without any proper warning and refused to refund the remaining balance. If there are restrictions on overseas usage, they should be clearly communicated before taking payment, not used as a reason to cancel the service and keep customers’ money. Cheap prices do not justify poor customer protection. The lack of transparency and customer support has completely damaged my trust in giffgaff. I would not recommend this service to others.
Everything is just perfect with this provider. Things are easily manageable via the app, prices are amazing (£10 for 15 GB?? That you can cancel anytime?) and data of course speedy and available. I love it. I once had a faulty payment and sent a quick message to customer support via the app. Somebody responded within 10min and within half an hour I had my money refunded. The point is that giffgaff just wants to be NICE and is completely user-centric. Their communications are fun and I can manage any issue within 1-2 minutes via the app. The ONLY thing that’s sometimes problematic is the limited EU roaming. According to giffgaff’s fair usage policy, it’s only possible to use a goodybag for 2 months outside without returning back to the UK. I mean it’s fair - in other EU countries data can be much more expensive and they have to cover the difference, so I understand. But as a frequent traveller with multiple residencies that can sometimes be a little troublesome for me. Still, I have been with giffgaff for 3 years and would never want to change!
