Reviews: What People Think About Cook's Country Magazine

You have always been a leader in content, both on TV and in print, and I greatly respect your need to keep a tight lock on your revenue stream. Sad to say that you have less than no respect for the needs of your readers.
If I understand the app correctly, the only way for me to reference a recipe when I am standing in aisle 6 at the supermarket trying to remember if it was 1 lb. of sweet potatoes or 3 lbs. of sweet potatoes is not to view the recipe on my iPhone Newsstand app (this magazine app is iPad-only), or to pull up an emailed copy of it on my iPhone (this magazine app is not capable of emailing your recipes), or to print it on paper (this magazine app is not capable of printing your recipes), but to have had the forethought to drag either drag my iPad to the store with me or write the list out long-hand?!
This is 2012, the digital age, and I have provided you with a significant amount of money (relatively speaking) to use your content, get over yourself and respect my needs as a subscriber, wife, and full-time job holder. I don't have the time or patience to sit down at a desk like a monk and re-copy all of the most interesting recipes long-hand.

The new update is worthless. Called to ask about changes in the online magazine. I was told they have Nothing to do with this App. I should call “whoever does” I was told on the phone they don’t know who to talk to. There are a step by step instructions on some recipes. Which I did find very helpful. Recently they changed the instructions on the step by step. It has become useless. It is odd that Cook’s Country won’t claim this as their magazine and can’t tell who to talk to.

I relied on your Prime Rib with Vegetables recipe every year for Christmas and had it set as a favorite to access it quickly. Now, not only is the favorite lost and I had to spend 20 minutes looking for it, but when I try to open the issue you’re trying to charge me again to download it. Restore purchases says its successful but clearly it’s not given that this one isn’t restoring. Now it’s Christmas morning and I have to come up with another plan instead of spending time with my family.
Cook’s has gone downhill ever since the last editor left.

About Cook’s Country
Cook’s Country, launched in 2006, is located just outside Boston where a team of more than three dozen test cooks, editors, and cookware specialists work in a 2,500-square-foot test kitchen. Our mission is to test recipes over and over again until we understand how and why they work and until we arrive at the “best” version of a particular recipe. The result, we hope, is the best version of a particular recipe, but we realize that only you can be the final judge of our success (or failure). As we like to say in the test kitchen, “We make the mistakes so you don’t have to.”
Cook’s Country recipes, testings, and tastings can be found in Cook’s Country magazine and cookbooks, online at CooksCountry.com, or featured on our public television show, Cook’s Country from America’s Test Kitchen.
