This is a great app, you can do most things that you would otherwise have to do through a live representative on this app. HOWEVER, there has been one instance so far where I logged into the app and it’s without my permission or consent or even clicking to set this up, it took $500 out of my savings account and paid down my credit card. THAT IS SCARY. I called customer support and they said that I must’ve authorized it because there’s no way it could’ve happened otherwise. I’m not sure if anyone else has had this experience, but it’s definitely something to be aware of. That’s no chump change, and even though it’s going toward something, it probably would’ve gone toward anyways at some point, I don’t like people or computers, touching my money without my permission or consent. If it happens again, I’ll just call them and they’ll send me a check (they said), but definitely something to be aware of.

Seriously 2 weeks no access to accounts, looks like it’s time to close my other two accounts with you guys. 9/6/25 app is down again for maintenance and from reading reviews it is becoming clear that it’s either the best bank ever or the worst of the worst, no middle ground. That would be a good indicator that the user experience is being fabricated and manipulated/altered to the individual user or a group of users that have been selected or targeted with a different algorithm than others, possibly data harvesting considering the app data and phone interactions are recorded and used for training purposes. Who and or what is being trained by our reactions? Giving this eerily familiar feeling of Deja vu from watching Amazons algorithm roll out and completely ruin the search capabilities that were previously accurate and relevant to the search query requested. Now it is almost impossible to find the item(s) would previously been one of the first search results to be listed now take 25 mins to find and require the search to be re-worded multiple times to duplicate prior results that took less than a minute to locate before. Discrimination and classification of groups of users that clearly are treated differently than others are treated. For all the things negatively experienced in the past year are starting to smell like a psy-op from where I’m standing.

I’m one of the many Bank of the West customers who are now BMO customers due to the merger/takeover/whatever. I loved Bank of the West so much that I stayed with them after moving to a place where there are no physical BOW banks. BMO has not done well by comparison. I get that glitches happen when there’s a merger. But the regular crashing of the app and web site, including inability to read FaceID, plus the mediocre customer service, is troubling. Every time the app or website fail, the answer from customer service is to either delete all cookies or get a temporary password and then change the permanent one. I’ve had yo do that 4 times in two weeks. After reading other recent reviews, many of us are having the same problems, yet customer service seems completely in the dark about it. It would be so smart if BMO both kept their cs staff informed of widespread issues AND gave them permission to share with customers that the issue is systemic and being worked on. That would be caring. Instead, today’s cs person suggested I “write down” my password for future 🤣 In essence he treated this customer like a buffoon who had a problem because she didn’t write down her password! Wanna know what’s even more troubling? BMO isn’t posting any response to the numerous bad reviews. What’s up with that?
