Have been using this app for a few years

They are good about updating this appt. sometimes that is good, sometimes it causes little glitches. They do go back to correct. Scanning foods to get nutritional information is great. I have to count carbs and this makes it much easier. I do wish the carbs could be categorized for each meal so I could see carbs each meal, not just a running total. This has a few features that I don’t use, but for the most part I am happy with the app.

Very disappointing.

Just received a boilerplate response from the developers that did NOT address any of the issues I took with the product. This is the very reason I left this app in the first place I have been using this app for many years and it served me very well. All I needed was a way to track my blood glucose, weight, A1C and medicines (non insulin). Has any found a good replacement for this app, something along the lines as the old version of this app. The new app is trying to be all things for all people and in the process it doesn’t do any of the four basic functions well. 75% of the new app is dedicated to social media, the information they want to distribute is called personal information for a reason. If I wanted the world to know every detail about my bodily functions I could post it on Facebook. 50% of the screen space is an add to upgrade the app. Given that I don’t/won’t use most of the new features, why would I want to pay money to upgrade and get more features I won’t use. They are anal about getting me to turn on tracking. Why do they need to know where I am every minute of the day. The app offers tracking when using the app which is a lie. It appears that the step function uses tracking and runs 24/7 and can not be disabled so you are tracked 24/7. I could live with this app if they would allow me to set switch’s in settings to disable the extraneous features such as steps, social media, insulin and allow me to op art of an upgrade and give me the screen space back.

An example of how to ruin a good healthcare app experience

I loved this app before they changed to the subscription model a few months back. There are so many things you used to be able to do that aren’t available, even small things like using a custom label instead of before/after a meal. And now in order to share your graphs with your doctor you can only go back two weeks and you have to print it out vs email it. It’s a real shame not to be able to afford an app that used to be an asset to my medical care. I would have been able to use this app had there been a one time purchase price, but I can’t justify adding another monthly automatic charge just to log my glucose levels. I used to hype this app to everyone I knew with diabetes. Even my doctor was impressed, although I had to explain what happened when I could no longer send her my full detailed data via the health portal. Now I tell everyone about the app, explain how the developers forced a subscription model on users, and use it as an example of how patients suffer when profiting from their diseases becomes the goal. I wish I had never trusted this developer with my data. Now it’s locked away and I had to start over again with another app.
