I’m a dental hygienist and find at times I go over on my patients. I used the free timer 3 days this week. I set repeats for the halfway mark during my appointments to give a quick auditory clue that I may need to pick up the pace in order to be done on time. There are times I’ve missed the cue, maybe because our music is too loud or I’m actively conversing with my patient, but most of the time it worked for me. The tone I picked is recognizable to me but subtle enough that no patient has asked what the noise was. I believe I have to keep my phone out of sleep mode for it to work, but still exploring that. I’m not sure if it will be as usable when I have less than the standard hour for some patients during the day, but it works well enough that I already upgraded. I love that it is a one time fee, rather than a monthly or yearly pocket drain.
I use this app to time my (mostly) daily repetitive stretching exercises & I love it. I shopped around quite a bit & this was hands down the best for flexibility & sound options. I find the interface a little confusing, but once a timer is set up, you can save under a unique name & it’s super easy to scroll through them. My only issue was finding tones that didn’t quickly become annoying when repeatedly repeated every 10 or 20 seconds & it took awhile to make sure they were consistent across my timers because I set them all up before settling on the sounds that worked best for my needs & they were ALL futzed up. Otherwise, once timers are set up, it’s awesome! In fact, I love this app so much that I’ve considered looking into how Siri voice command works just to make it work without touching because sometimes I accidentally turn it off or scroll to wrong timer when I’m laying on the floor with phone next to me.
I don’t give many 5 star reviews but I’d give this app more if I could. It does exactly what I need it to do. Sometimes I have flare ups of a condition that causes dehydration. I use this app to keep me on track with sipping water so I can keep my dehydration under control without drinking too much at once and getting sick. Additionally, it’s super refreshing to have an app that doesn’t bombard you with ads. I don’t even need all the extra stuff from the “pro” in-app purchase but bought it anyway to support the developers as a thank you for making such a nice app to use. Who knew a simple timer could be this awesome!
