I have used this number puzzle app for maybe 10 years. I like it better than Sudoku. A couple of friends are hooked on this app too. Seemingly endless puzzles organized into different challenge levels. It is beautifully designed, easy on the eyes, with an intuitive interface. Excellent simple instructions. I have never noticed any bugs. The minimalist haptic sound—you can turn it off easily. The ads—if you keep them—do not interrupt your game play and only appear when you fully complete a puzzle. People: this developer DOES NOT COLLECT YOUR DATA and still maintains this clean fun well-designed app. If you enjoy the app and do not like the ads, simply pay $2.99 for ad-free. The concern about light and dark mode may have been intended for another app because this app is in pleasing browns. The concern about small fingers in small spaces—This app is actually superior in how its design allows you to put possible numbers in each square. Some apps do not allow that. On small phone screens, I do not see how this could be different. Get this privacy-respectful app, pay 2.99 for ad-free, and enjoy peaceful satisfying puzzling for years.
I love this puzzle, everything about it -- except when I "win". When I "win" I get a "reward" -- and that reward is having to sit through an advertisement for another game or puzzle which has so little to do with solving kakuro as to be laughable -- except that after a couple of hundred it is REALLY annoying. I know that this "reward" system has something to do without how Kakuro floats its boat (so to speak) but doesn't it seem like it would make sense to provide an actual reward -- like points toward some acquisition, perhaps? I don't know -- I just know I don't like it the way it is. Te way it is I have to pay the 'ultimate sacrifice' just for winning. P.U.
Updated (see []). Kakuro is one of my favorites so I’m picky. This implementation is well done. I can’t quite consider it a 5 star for a minor but somewhat annoying reason - the number keys are rather small so I hit the wrong number a lot. I believe there is room to make them slightly bigger. This just isn’t a reason for me to mark it a 4 however, so I rated a 5. I’m hoping the keys can be made larger. The ads are handled well and are not too obtrusive [change that- they get obtrusive. If I turn off sound so I can play discretely, the ads should not blast out in high volume between every game with clown-like music. So now I’ll decide if I can live with the small keys and purchase the ad-free version cause I can’t live with the blasting ads.] I do like to support a great developer anyway.
