I rated this so low because whenever you click on a story link, you get an advertisement video. Most of the time I don’t want a video at all, but prefer to read the articles and then if I want the video to click on it. When the video comes on immediately, you may have to stop it or terminate it right away as it can be loud or distracting to others . There is no real way to stop the auto advertisement so it will start immediately. I absolutely hate this and will not use this app because of this.
WJCL is distinguishing itself from the other networks in the last couple years. The weather is spot on and you can find stories covered by WJCL that other local networks don’t touch. It’s a nice change.
This used to be a great news app. Recently since the last upgrade some news stories won’t download and locks your screen up so you can’t go back to last page. You have to get out of the app completely and delete it in hopes of it rebooting. Download the app again and go back in and it still malfunctions. I have no problem with the WTOC or WSAV news app. They work fine. So until WJCL gets their app functioning properly I’ll be watching “The Other Guys” to keep me informed of the news and weather. Come on WJCL I know you can do better!
