Phonetics Focus

This is a great app for learning and teaching the sounds of English. Has everything you need in one very streamlined package. Great value for money too. It would be a real bonus if a future upgrade included the ability to hear the word you've just created using the typewriter. The closest rival to this app is MacMillan's Sounds, which is also good, but more expensive and contains less features. This is the phonetics app to have.

I've tried loads of things to improve my pronunciation, but nothing has been more useful than this app! It's easy to use, complete, didactic and convenient!

I use this company's web-based version of Phonetics Focus on their site but as Apple doesn't like Flash, I can't use it on my iPhone ; ( This app is even better though. It's packed with fun ways to learn and I can now create my own phonetic scripts easily with the typewriter function. I've recommended it to my students and they love it too. Good work!
