So far this looks like a “polarizing” app. You either love it or you hate it. As of today I am in the “almost love it” group. There is a lot of “good to know” information, but I would hate having the responsibility of keeping it all updated and perfectly accurate all of the time. Can anyone really do that knowing that Mother Nature is the puppet master on the other side of the curtain playing games with you? Be happy. This is an excellent app.

Dear Pinpoint Weather app developers: a key feature is suddenly not working. You can no longer click on the lightning bolt icons on the radar map to see the time and type of the lightning strike. Please fix this ASAP! That feature is what made this weather app truly the best. This app used to be best the Denver weather app by a long shot because: (1) the precipitation radar was more precise and accurate than every other weather app I’ve tried; (2) it would real-time add a lightning bolt icon to the radar map in the exact location of the strike; and (3) you could click on any lightning bolt icon on the radar map to see the time of the strike and the type of strike (e.g., cloud-to-cloud, etc.). Numbers (1) and (2) are still true, so it’s still a good weather app, but (3) is no longer true. You can no longer click on a lightning bolt icon to see the time or type of strike. I can’t imagine the app developers disabled this feature on purpose. Developers, please fix this ASAP!

This app has gone downhill especially since the last update. Now if you get a lightning warning and click on it, it goes to a black screen-not even a map. If you leave it open too long, it resets and goes to a blank map next time you try to view the weather and has to be closed and if you’re lucky, it might work the next time you reopen it. When it does work it has good features like lightning indicators, storm directions, speed, storm severity. I started using a paid for radar app because I think it’s that import have a dependable app you can rely on. That’s not Pinpoint and I get the feeling that this stopping working is based on getting you to look at the opening banner that has not changed for years so it’s not like we don’t know who that company is and need a reminder every 20 minutes, about the time it makes you close the app and reopen it.
