Update: And like that, the dark mode contrast is fixed and looks great. What an amazing gift to the community. Thanks! This is such a treasured gift to the community. I run my phone in dark mode to save power, but it makes the colors almost unreadable on the app. Would you be able to solve for this? Thanks!
I saw that Rockstar Librarian said her guide was added to this app, but as of now I can’t find where. It would be great to be able to favorite certain sets on here, but the “bands” section does not seem to show any DJ sets, just “events” related to music. Searching by artist name doesn’t help either. Maybe RSL hasn’t been implemented yet? Besides that, the UI is pretty rough. White text over white or light backgrounds makes it impossible to read, you can’t currently read the release notes. And nested menus are pretty broken. I’ll keep checking it out the rest of the week to see if it gets updated before I leave for the Playa, but in its current state it is not useful.
I have used this app since I heard of it. They come out with so many (new) features every year.... This year while out at the burn, people were just asking me simple things like where was the nearest Porto’s, the app allowed you to press a button (for emergency (first aid/medical) and the restrooms, it then gave you a clear arrow/(compass style) directed you in that direction- I would tell people, “Walk directly straight in this direction.” ...... just an idea of how helpful the app could (or couldn’t) be! Lots of my friends who have been going for years, never even use this app & they are left using their precious time out on playa (which goes way faster) using maps and being radically self reliant in other time consuming ways. I especially like all of the art info. This year alone (2019) there were more than 400 art pieces, lots weren’t even on the map! I really like learning about the different art pieces that I stumble upon while out there, adding special notes to them & (for some) learning from an audio tour how to better interact with the art piece. I also like adding my friends camps/camps that I like for future reference as well, or just to find them!! I would seriously be lost without a map & the map/whole app, function on airplane mode! I can’t say enough good things about this app. It also integrated the Rock Star Librarians music guide (this year) as well as burner maps (to find friends camps). Can’t wait for next years & hopefully I will have a lot more time to explore the apps new features before heading out to the Playa <3 thank you guys - dusty hugs from TOMB R8RR / ReRun
