All good and this that Coventry has an app . Still issue is that you cannot actually do much on it . This just shows the mortgage you have, interest rate and the length of time you have left. It doesn’t show transactions that you pay , interest charged every month nor will let you pay any amount of money in the app on a simple payment method. Let alone to increase monthly payments or change date of payment on the app . Other banks offer these features and more . For Coventry is like have a digital slip saying how much you owe .

I have an online account with cbs so thought I’d try the app. I wish I could give a good rating but I can’t because I can’t even get past the login stage. I keep getting an error message saying there is a technical issue and I need to access my account via a browser. Having read some of the reviews here it became apparent that my problem (perhaps) was because I have a vpn running on my phone. There’s no indication in the app btw that this might be the problem. I turned my vpn off temporarily and managed to get past the login page to then receive another error message saying this account was registered to another device. Well other than my windows laptop where I access cbs via a browser, I don’t have another device where this app installed so I’m stuck. I’ve deleted the app until such time cbs gets its act together both on the vpn issue (which ironically makes me more secure when accessing services) and the device problem. I’ve never had issues like this with other financial apps I use regularly. Sorry Cbs- must do better.

Like an increasing number of people I use a VPN to encrypt my data and protect my online security. Sadly therefore, I never got off first base with this app because it needs to know your location and so a VPN, by definition, is an issue. I just get the ‘oops’ message when trying to register. No other banking app does this to my knowledge. Yes I could turn off my VPN and turn it on again after I’ve finished, but it’s another hassle. This needs a rethink Coventry. Perhaps I’ll try it again in a month or so in the hope common sense has prevailed. Update: Appreciate your developer response but I beg to differ. If I turn off my VPN I can login. As soon as I turn it on again I get the ‘oops’ message again. My VPN is not one that allows exceptions so I’m effectively unable to use this app. It’s simpler to continue to use Safari.
