The Zoox app is fantastic and so easy to use that it made the whole experience hassle free. The app literally showed me walking in a map and where to meet my Zoox in real time. The Zoox pickup zones are in the ride share areas for taxis and more. Just look for the Zoox signage on the casino directory to guide you to the area. That was absolutely brilliant. Now the only thing to remember is due to Zoox being so new it only picks up at about 5a casinos for now. I met my Zoox at Mandalay Bay Casino and Hotel and got dropped off at Aria. I had to wait to use it till evening because the mornings were already booked up for the day. It’s popular so that’s to be expected. It was free when I rode it August 6,2026 but that may change soon. Have fun and try it for yourself.
Downloaded the Zoox app, picked a couple of spots (we went between resorts), and the vehicle showed up at the designated pickup zone. No driver, no steering wheel, no pedals — just a clean little pod with seats facing each other. You hit “start ride,” buckle up, and it takes off. The whole process felt simpler than ordering a regular rideshare. The ride itself was smooth and surprisingly relaxing. It handled Strip traffic confidently, accelerated and braked gently, and just quietly got us where we needed to go. Being able to sit face-to-face and talk (or just stare out the windows) made it feel more like a mini adventure than a typical taxi. The cabin is bright, the screens let you tweak temperature and music, and the whole experience has this futuristic but not intimidating vibe. It’s currently free while they’re still expanding service, which makes it even better for trying out. Limited to set pickup and drop-off points along the Strip (not door-to-door everywhere yet), but for hopping between major resorts and attractions it works great. If you’re in Las Vegas and want something different from Uber or the monorail, give Zoox a shot. Fun, easy, and a cool glimpse of what’s coming.
We had to wait a bit to schedule the ride and for it to arrive, but that’s to be expected based on the number of vehicle’s and the free promotional period. The vehicle has a fun look, is roomy and comfortable, and the methods for entering/exiting and controlling the interior experience are logical, uncomplicated, and well thought out. So as for the ride experience… A+! If I didn’t know the vehicle was autonomous, I would have assumed it was being piloted by a competent driver with a good understanding of the local traffic patterns, driving norms, and routes. The ride was smooth and efficient and the vehicle never seemed confused or timid. The only suggestions I have are to place larger vehicle ID numbers on the sides of the vehicles so that they are easier to identify. They are currently identified by license plate number, so this is tricky when they arrive in groups or are parallel parked between other vehicles. And they should add a note to not close or refresh the app if it says there are currently no vehicles in your area, as that starts the booking process over and you lose your place in line. Ideally you would sign onto a list and would be notified when your vehicle is available for booking. Currently if it says there are no vehicles in your area, leave the app open and keep checking it, as it will automatically update when that changes. I’d do a Zoox ride again and could see it becoming my preferred method of travel (subject to price of course)!
