Update: less than a week after this review and Sena fixed the issue. Both helmets are connecting to the app again and working fine. Updated firmware for only the Sena branded helmet as the HD was up to date. All is now working well now and pairing with the app as intended. Thank you for looking into the issue Sena!
Been trying for an hour, waste of money when you have a brand new helmet and it won’t connect to the app for an update or help with pairing. Great job Sena! My Sena branded helmet worked fine before and it’s also locked out of the app now, only six months old. Don’t know what you guys are doing but you were once the leaders in helmet comms, not so sure about that.

New update totally removes group intercom we rely on for 20s and 20s evo models. If you have a 20 series DO NOT upgrade
*update* developer response is canned. After weeks of back and forth they admitted the removed all the group intercom features intentionally, it’s not a bug and they don’t plan on fixing it. Thus making the Sena 20s series totally useless for groups
DO NOT invest in the Sena platform they may just remove key features at any time to try to force you to buy newer devices. Check out alternatives I’ve used Sena for nearly 2 decades my group has dozens, it’s very sad
