Taiwan Philharmonic | Music Lab


In 2017, Taiwan Philharmonic established the “Music Lab” to explore the unknown and seek further possibilities for classical music and orchestra. In 2019, Music Lab launched a new project focused on music care and music therapy, promoting cultural equity and inclusivity. During the process, we have witnessed caregivers using music to bridge gaps with those who have lost their ability to speak, discovering how music can bring smiles back to the elderly and become a new communication pathway.

With populations aging worldwide, Taiwan Philharmonic has designed its own Music Lab App to enter the lives of the elderly, integrating classical music with technology, including accessible and elderly-friendly features. Caregivers can join the App community to connect with the elderly in their lives through music as part of their care program. They can use the “Relax” function to understand the elderly’s emotional changes and life records, and the “My Life Story” function to understand more about their lives.
