For someone that struggles in most classroom settings and with ADD, Jane Stafford’s School of Weaving video subscription format is the easiest, most user friendly AND AFFORDABLE tool to learning how to weave. I would be taking expensive workshops repeatedly (if I can find them at all) and come away with gaps in my understanding and more questions than answers. She knows and shares so much! With School of Weaving, I can go back and review video as much as I need and whenever I want, or browse and submit topics for questions in the community forum! She has you covered where forms, patterns and diagrams come to play with printable downloads included. This is perfect for my ADD because I struggle between verbal instruction-to-practice retention and attention. I can take time to commit things to muscle and memory. Thank you so much!
I’ve only been weaving about three years. I know a bit, but have so much more to learn. Jane has shown me simpler more effective ways to do things I know how to do, as well as explain very clearly things I didn’t know. Her lessons on sett were extraordinary! I had heard about sett and knew what was meant by sett, but I had NO idea about the effect changing sett had on fabric. Jane is a master in her trade, and she knows how articulate her knowledge in a clear and accessible manner. She imparts her knowledge in a way that allows you the room to make it your own. I have taken lessons with a number of teachers and with several online schools, Jane is by far and away the best. You want to learn to weave? This is where you want to learn. Sign up today, you won’t regret it!
Jane’s method of teaching is the best I’ve ever had the pleasure to experience — online or in person. I love the way she always takes the time to carefully and thoroughly explain the theory behind every weaving technique and structure that she teaches. Her explanations are detailed and logical in their order of presentation — and her demonstrations at the loom are presented very clearly. An added bonus is her sense of humor and obvious love of the weaving process and the fabric she produces. I also believe that the Jane Stafford School of Weaving is the best value available today. To be able to get so many hours of high quality instruction, detailed lesson printouts and patterns, and on-line chat and assistance for such a reasonable charge is truly remarkable! I have completed the first five seasons, am currently enjoying season six, and hope to continue as long as Jane is teaching! (I frequently review past lessons — another plus for membership.) I also enjoy the access to beautiful yarns and kits. I recommend the JST School of Weaving to all of my fellow weavers, both new and experienced.
