i genuinely can’t recommend Veygo enough. I first found Veygo after a friend recommended the app to me, and I used it to insure my first car while I was learning to drive. I was paying around £80 a month for learner insurance, which I thought was really reasonable, and it gave me a good idea of what having my own fully comprehensive insurance would actually be like. When I passed my test at 18, I switched over to my current car, a BMW 1 Series convertible. I was honestly expecting insurance to be ridiculous, especially as a newly qualified 18-year-old, but Veygo quoted me around £250 a month with a black box. Other companies either turned me down completely or were quoting me up to £600 a month WITH a black box for the exact same car. The 3-monthly repricing is also genuinely one of my favourite things about Veygo. It gives you the opportunity to improve your price based on how you’re actually driving rather than just being stuck with the same price for an entire year. I also really appreciate the 10% bonus/discount for using Veygo as a learner and then moving onto a full UK licence. Customer service and support have been great for me too. I’ve found that if you actually cooperate with them, follow the rules and communicate when you need help, they’re a really good company to deal with. As an 18-year-old trying to insure my own car, I honestly don’t think I’d have found anything remotely as affordable elsewhere. Veygo has genuinely made driving my own car possible for me, and I’m really grateful for that. 5 stars from me thank you Veygo! ❤️
I randomly received an email after a years coverage saying that they’d cancelled my subscription because I hadn’t downloaded the app within the 14 days they’d given me via text message, except I never received a text message, and I already had had the app for a year at that point. When I tried to find a means of contacting customer service to sort this out, there is no phone number, no email, and apparently their social media’s are down for now. All there is is a robot yes-man, that just regurgitates the same stuff from the website, it doesn’t provide actual insight, and it can’t connect you to a real person to talk to. I was left panicked and completely alone, and just gutted by how terrible the customer service and lack of care was. It’s good when it works, but when it goes wrong, it’s better to find someone else, because Veygo has no-one to help you.
The insurance concept is great but the app is not user friendly. Was on the verge of paying for a quote but went back to change the period of insurance and now am stuck in some Kafkaesque loop where the app has deleted the phone details I had entered, tells me that I can’t proceed with a new quote because some of my details are missing but won’t let me edit them to put the phone number back! 😖
