Beatport: Music for DJs App

I don’t ever write reviews for apps but seeing as i need this app to discover music on the go, I really wanted to address some things in hopes that the developers really fix them as they’ve been mention plenty of times. The app randomly logs you out during the most random times, i’ll press back on a song and it’ll just stop playing cuz it’s logged out, or i’ll be listening to a playlist and it logs you out then there’s issues with “connection” no other app on my phone will be lagging and i’ll even do an internet speed test, but for some reason beatport still has “connection issues” and lastly, sometimes it won’t even let me log in, it just keeps saying connection issues, everything is a connection issue! I love beatport but it’s stressful that i can’t use it without having issues on it every time, because so far, every time i use the app something comes up, I’m not going to say don’t download the app, it’s layout is so nice; still use it, just know that you’ll experience a lot of issues with it!

I love to use Beatport when I’m just casually listening to music outside of DJing. The music quality is just SO much better than consumer music apps. But the app blows. Hate to say it. It is VERY buggy. Shuffle doesn’t work sometimes. Clicking songs doesn’t play it sometimes. I have to do this thing where I have to shut my phone and then click play via the lock screen because the actual app interface won’t respond sometimes. Other times the app will just crash out completely. It’s infuriating. Because the MUSIC is GREAT! But the quality of life needs major improvement if I want to use this as my standard music app. I know Beatport is more catered to DJing and song selection and whatnot, but I feel like if you guys made improvements on your app and the bugs itself. It would be a game changer!! I would use it everyday! - P Also, PLEASE add a queue function!!

I like beatport a lot. I’m not using the app to DJ. But going to use it to discover which songs of each genre I’d like to use in my sets. Eventually, I’ll probably end up owning all of my own music but beatport allows entry level dj’s to get mixing with songs at the same bpm in the top100 of any genre right away! Which is actually quite valuable. I wouldn’t look at the mobile app for a primary music streaming service. The other review (only other one) just seemed like the guy didn’t know what beatport is meant for and thought it was like, tidal or something. This is mainly a software used in tandem with rekordbox. Not a streaming service but I am going to leverage the app for future songs and set ideas!
