I purchased a competitor’s product last summer. I had an issue and contacted support, and no response to multiple inquiries over a couple of weeks time.
I decided to purchase the Moleskine Smart system as a smart notebook is helpful in my work, and it lives up to its promise. I did have a minor issue which I’ve reported to their support, and got a timely and helpful response. I wish I bought this system in the first place.

I am beginning to wonder if this app is still supported. I am currently unable to login to my Moleskin Smart Account AND if I try to create a new account the app says “Network connection has been lost.” I am very disappointed with the app. The product is stellar and takes notes unbelievably well but the entire premise to this app is the ability to easily transition between devices and pull up old notes. Oh and if you click the app support button it takes you to the website. If you used the help button on the site they will respond to your request via email to state that you need to ask for assistance via the app support. Moleskine how are you allowing your reputation and legacy as a company to be tarnished by functionality of this app and smart pen??

I love having a hard- and soft-copy of notes. I wanted to try the different modes of the device and found the following on the first day of trying it.
1) Live streaming to the app works fine. Most strokes were appropriately captured if you hold the pen properly.
2) Off-line capture only grabbed about a page’s worth of strokes before it quit capturing. I don’t know if the pen quit capturing or if the transfer of data failed when the app re-connected. This is obviously a problem if you depend on a soft-copy.
3) The best way to make sure it reconnects properly for a new session (meaning any time you turn the pen back on) is to force close the app, turn the pen on, then re-open the app. This is obviously a problem if you want to capture quick notes or fleeting ideas.
4) The app crashes without any notice as to why. Are error logs captured anywhere?
5) I have a feeling the app content is not being saved in iCloud, which should be the default. If I lose the data because my iOS device dies or it is stolen, I’m out of luck.
