I cannot say enough about this app. The content is scripturally accurate, challenging, and even entertaining. They constantly add to their catalog, and there is something for the entire family in its listing. This has been such a blessing in my life. I listen to audiobooks and videos while I go about my work at home. I never close the app without feeling spurred on in the good works God has given me. Depending on what I’m listening too, I also let out a chuckle or an, “Oh my…they just said it!” The content is truly a lifeline in this sinful, fallen world. This app is worth every penny and is my favorite service to support. If you want true biblical teaching and encouragement, then this app is for you. You will not be disappointed.
I had the app about a month after it was released, and it had some issues saving my spot in books, and navigating to find either the chapter of a book I wanted to start from the beginning or finding something I was listening to. But over the past year they have continued fixing navigation in every area of the app. Plus they just keep adding content. When the app first released there was a lot I wanted to listen to, but now there’s so many possibilities I have too many good choices. One of the greatest gems that I hadn’t even planned on getting out of the app is all the history topics covered in the app. I just wanted access in one place to a lot of canon’s audio books, but I got so much more in the bargain. And there seems to be more each week.
I love the content and have found the monthly fee to be a great value to all this wisdom at my fingertips! I enjoy being able to try out books that I might not otherwise know about or want to buy individually. My walk with the Lord has improved so much from the ministry of the Wilsons and their kids. I read my Bible more, serve my family better and have a deeper understanding of how to live out my faith in the ways God has called me. I do find the in-app player to be glitchy. This is not Audible. It doesn’t always save my spot and there’s no way to keep track of your progress through a book aside from trying to remember (or screenshot) the time stamp from when you left off (no chapter selection or bookmark options), just one long audio clip. It isn’t intuitive to me that the “In Progress” section is two or three sections down, and it doesn’t always save the books you’re in the middle of, so sometimes you have to hunt for them. When I do finally find my way back to the book I was last listening to and hit play, it doesn’t play right away. I did finally figure out that it just takes an unexpectedly long time to start playing, so you have to wait. I used to pause and restart it and close and reopen it etc but finally realized I just need to wait for the awkward silence to pass. It’s really only around 10 seconds but it’s long enough that you think something went wrong. All of this is not really a big deal, I am writing this mostly as feedback for the developers. The content is what the app is about and the content is great, just have to get used to the nuances of the app.
