Robin Hood Ticketing

I’ve been using this app for a couple of years to top up my card. It was basic but worked well enough to add money. Now it’s saying the app doesn’t have access to Apple Pay but there is no option to turn it on in settings. I think they need to check whether anything has changed with permissions in the latest iOS update.

Nottingham City Council’s transport app is useless, it doesn’t recognise my cards, having gone on line to top up my card(s) with a credit card, I am then told to “COLLECT” the top up, rather like in the USSR where one employee showed you the items in the shop, a second one took your roubles and a third employee handed over the item. Well, Nottingham City Council is run by Socialists, so the comparison is fair. I phoned up and was told that the employee on the phone could not “COLLECT” my top up for me. I have to do it at a top up machine. My local machine is broken, Marchwood Close NG8. I suppose I could walk into Nottingham to find a machine that works, obviously I can’t take the bus as my card has no credit. Isn’t it marvellous to live in a people’s glorious Socialist paradise?

Nottingham City Council have done a fantastic job by rolling out this much needed and much awaited app. In addition to creating a new Robin Hood account or registering a newly purchased card to your Robin Hood account, Season card holders are now able to check the validity of their card as well as extend the validity of their card (1 month, 3 months or 6 months). PAYG customers are able to check the balance of their card by holding it near their NFC enabled phones to read it. The app also allows us to top up these cards, which was a much sought after functionality. The next step ahead would perhaps be to develop a feature whereby NFC enabled phones could use the app on their phones to scan their Robin Hood cards on entry into buses, similar to Apple Pay/ Google Pay etc, without having to physically have the card on them. *wink wink* Hope you're seeing this review, SmartCitizen ;-) Keep up the great work!
