Storypod – App for Parents

I purchased the Storypod as a Christmas present for my three kids. I was so excited! We used it once before it quit working. I reached out to the company and after sending all the information, plus videos, and screenshots the Storypod team decided my unit was defective and a replacement was sent out. I received a used replacement unit, which I agreed to, but it also had the same issue. It only worked one time and then never turned on again. I repeated the process of talking to Storypod support again and another used unit was sent to me. Guess what happened….it also did not work. After receiving the third faulty and unusable Storypod I kindly requested a refund. Are you ready for the best part. I had to send pictures, purchase dates, and jump through all the hoops AGAIN only to be ghosted by the company. Now I have three Storypods that DO NOT work plus approximately fifteen crafties that are completely useless. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend using Storypod or purchasing anything from this company. Best of luck to anyone who uses this company.

We’re loving the storypod thus far! My toddler has easily been able to learn how to operate the speaker and use the different buttons to play content (currently Daniel Tiger is an obsession)! The setup and the app are fairly straight-forward and easy to understand for me. I love that my kid can take it to bed and I can turn the device off from my phone or set a sleep timer. Recording in the app has room for improvement. It would be nice to have some basic editing options for recorded clips, and a way to save recordings to my phone from the app, and/or upload pre-recorded audio files onto a recordable. I do worry about losing my recordings if I ever have to reset the storypod, as they can only be recorded in the app to one specific token or sticker.

I cannot say enough about this product…! As a family we prioritize story time with our boys, but life sometimes gets in the way. In the past we had used a leapfrog story teller but were disappointed in how easily it could break (plastic and kiddos on bunk beds, not the best mix). Storypod has been a God sent! The pod itself is very tough and the ‘craftie’ options are a brilliant twist and add-on to pod. My boys LOVE to choose their craftie and then snuggle with the others awaiting their turns to be played. Each craftie has a purpose (songs, types of stories, games) and new ones are often released to keep things interesting. The owl craftie can be customized with stories read by you or a family member. We LOVE this craftie!!! I have recorded their nighttime songs on Owl and now if mommy isn’t available for nighttime routine due to work or other, boys have their Owl that will play mommy singing to them. Regarding customer service, I couldn’t be more pleased. Shipping is very fast and response time to emails is less than 24 hours. In the customer service world- that’s a huge win! I’ve contacted them a couple of times for troubleshooting and inquiries and Storypod has not only been helpful, but noticeably caring. Buy this, worth the investment. My kiddos ask for extra story time every night. First they read, then it’s time for their craftie friends!!! Thank you StoryPod!
