Haven’t logged in for few days? Face ID disabled. Try logging in using MPIN. Oh wait, MPIN is expired. ‘Please reset your MPIN’. Ok sure. MPIN reset done. Ok now reset your MTPIN also. Wait, what?! Ok sure, will reset the MTPIN also. Phew. Now let’s log in. Enter your new MPIN to log in. ‘Invalid MPIN. Log in attempts remaining 3/4’. Ok try again. ‘Invalid MPIN, log in attempts remaining 2/4’. Ok try forgot MPIN and reset it again. Disable wifi, enter RMP, and send SMS. ‘Standard SMS charges will apply’ Ok, no problem, small price to pay for a simple log in process (remember, all this started when I attempted to log in). SMS sent. A registration window opens. I enter the details. ‘You are about to register for IOB UPI’ But wait, I had done this to reset the MPIN, the process for which required me to change the MTPIN too, which indeed was deemed ‘invalid’ on subsequent log in attempts! I don’t want to register for IOB UPI, ffs. This ‘App’ is ETREMELY FRUSTRATING TO USE.
I am presently at my wits’ end with the Indian Bank Mobile Banking App. Granted, mobile banking is a fantastic tool that should ideally make day-to-day transactions hassle-free, but regrettably, this application stands as a quintessential example of what not to aim for in fintech development. Where to even begin with its abysmal lack of user-friendliness? It's as if the app's design was an afterthought, showing little to no care for user experience. The interface is far from being intuitive, leaving us the customers to navigate a labyrinth each time we log in. The frequent crashes are another point of contention. It's amazing how often I find myself staring at an error message, rather than the banking details I was seeking. The application's stability leaves a lot to be desired, to put it lightly. Perhaps the most infuriating issue is the constant need to reauthenticate. Every single activity demands a new login, a nuisance that piles on unnecessary time and effort, ultimately detracting from the supposed convenience of mobile banking. To summarize, this app misses the mark considerably, and I sincerely hope that Indian Bank takes note of these grievances. It’s high time they prioritized their customers’ digital experience. There's enormous potential for a cutting-edge, user-friendly banking application; sadly, their current attempt falls woefully short.
Usually I don’t write reviews . But it really makes me feel so good to see the app for Indian bank. I’m being a customer for Indian bank around 20years. Everytime it’s very hectic to deal with the branch employee. Now the options like setting the debit pin on your own, changing the home branch through this app and applying and getting the statements become very easy . And the imps work charms and the UPI works super fast. Good work from the bank and from the development side. But still you guys have to improve the UI design for the app. As being a designer I expect more in future.
