Ticket Bus Verona

Like other reviewers, this app is completely useless because I can’t get SMS on a foreign number. So now we can’t take a bus that is the only mode of transportation to a reservation. Completely pointless to even require creating an account to use this app. But like my experience with most other Italian logistics, it’s very a very similar experience. Nothing and no one works in this country.

I read the other reviews that this app does not work with foreign SMS authentication. So, I went and bought an Italian SIM card so that I could ride the bus. After I created my bus account using my new Italian phone number, I tried to load money onto the app. I tried 3 different credit cards from 3 different banks. 1 Visa and 2 Mastercard. These cards work everywhere else in Italy. They are 3D secure. But, they don’t work for the Verona bus app. All the cards failed. And, the app doesn’t accept Apple Pay or any other payments that work with foreign cards.

This app is really useless. To use, you must set up an account. To set up an account you need to verify with an SMS PIN, The app says it has sent a PIN but it never arrives (at least with a foreign phone number). Super frustrating. This is embarrassing for Verona: cities all over Europe, including in less wealthy places (Romania) have similar apps that work flawlessly. Fixing this should be an afternoon’s work for a competent software engineer!
