Top right corner menu is buggy, closing by itself unless you treat the cursor with a surgeon’s precision, making changing the settings mid-session exceedingly difficult or impossible. Overall, markedly less functionality than the web version, which, after contacting support, I learned I can’t use in a browser on my iPad anyway. I was told by support that mobile browsers “do not have the functionality needed to run the website version”, which might be true for all I know, I’m not a developer, but from an end-user standpoint it seems ridiculous to me when NotebookLM runs just fine on every browser on every machine I own, and my old crunchy desktop computer is less powerful than the brand new over-engineered iPad I use during grad school lectures and while studying out and about. I’ve informed my case manager to ask for a refund for the license. There must be parity, even if imperfect, between this version and the web version for the purchase to be worthwhile—if I’m not allowed to use the web version. If I can’t use the features that have been paid for on a device the company says is supported, why use the service?
Hello! I love this app and have been using it for my accommodations since 2021. Recently the app has been crashing on me a lot. I always make sure im on the latest update. If I add too many things too fast it will crash. This includes the regular notes, important notes, taking photos, and posting the slides. This is frustrating because I have to be able to add stuff quickly while im in class. If it crashes I then have to go back into the app and resume the recording so it will end up having a gap. I am not sure if it’s an issue with my phone or if it’s the app. I genuinely love glean it has helped me so much with school. Hopefully this can be solved in one way or another.
Honestly, Glean, especially on desktop, is a very useful app that has helped me exponentially with note taking, and as an ADHD student, I’m particularly grateful; however, the mobile app definitely needs work. For starters, though I was initially excited to use Glean on my iPad, since it’s easier to carry than my laptop, I was very sad when my Apple Pencil didn’t work in Glean’s note box, which frankly defeats the point of even having it on iPad. It’s also somewhat more difficult to use Glean interactively on iPad, with the inability to view slides conveniently, or import/find images conveniently. Glean does allow you to import a picture you take into your notes, which is a great feature for mobile; however, the mobile version frankly needs more features like that, that make using Glean on mobile easier and more worthwhile. I think Glean mobile could be so awesome, but there are some key things that just aren’t there right now.
