Kalimaty

I need a dictionary to record words in Zapotec, which is an indigenous language without a lot of resources. I was having an issue sharing access with my friends, but the Kalimaty team responded to my issue with professionalism and speed. One day it would be great to share my dictionary without having to share the account, but in the meantime the Kalimaty team offered a solution that works for my needs. Thank you again!

You can’t edit words once you make them, forcing you to create the new word all over. And I chose what words I added in a particular order, meaning creating a new one would mean it would destroy the order. Aagh! Edit: I never remembered logging in before, but now I’ve tried all my email addresses and I can’t seem to log on to all the words I had saved. I was inventing my own language. I tried the forgot password and haven’t received emails on any of my accounts. Can’t seem to find a way to contact anyone within the app either seeing as I can’t get past the log in

I saw some other reviewers that said it wouldn’t let them edit the words. This is true, despite the update that says it fixed this. However, you can easily create the word you want to fix again, but it is a hassle. I also saw some reviewers have some problems with the pictures. That the pictures did not work. This is also true. Sometimes the pictures won’t load. Well, most of the time, actually. I think it would actually be better for the users to use other photos, like ones on the internet or in their camera roll. I don’t know how that would work, but if it is possible without paying or not ruining your app, it would attract more long-term users. It’s a decent app. It’s great for using when you are learning another language, but I’ll be keeping an eye out for a better app.
