Pooli

I would have completely flunked and screwed up my beautiful new pool if it wasn’t for this app. I get reminders to get out and empty the skimmer basket, it tells me what to add to fix my problems (tip from locally owned pool store, regardless of calculations always start by adding 1/3 to 1/2 recommended doses), and this app lets you add partial doses and then reminds me to add the rest. That said, if you retest and the problem is fixed the reminder goes away. Also, tap the color cube on the right when entering the test results if you need a decimal, it took me two months to figure that out. I find the inventory storage somewhat helpful too, the app also tells me how much I’ve been using. This is a brand new concrete and pebble salt filtration pool so my ph problems will eventually subside, so I’ve been told, and I expect the reminders to adjust because I’ll be using less over time. This app takes all the worry and stress out of new pool management. I was overwhelmed when the pool company handed over control but this app has really educated me on how to handle. I may in like 5 years not need it beyond the reminders but I can’t think that far ahead.

Question/Suggestion: My only question/suggestion for Pooli (and it seems there is inconsistency across the industry on this) is the chlorine levels based on CYA. I really like to have that turned on, but even with it on, the numbers are just a little low based on the experts at Trouble Free Pool. I realize I can turn that off and set my own, but I like that it automatically calculates based on CYA, just with they were a little higher. Decided to try taking on my pool myself, and download a few apps, including this one. Overall, this one is by far the best so far. The Pool Math app by Trouble Free Pool is a good choice as well, but Pooli is completely free (thanks developer(s)) if you are doing your own tests and entering them yourself. The Trouble Free Pool website is also an awesome community, and I have been relying on that community a lot recently. Also, I don’t want to use the adjusted Alkalinity. I have that off, but it continue to shows the adjusted number and is putting recommendations and tasks based on the adjusted number. ***Edit*** Developer is awesome. Responded to an email super fast (which I wasn’t sure a response would even come), and mentioned an adjustment for this would be coming. Thanks again! Super awesome.

I am a mom of 4 kids, not a professional. I was frustrated with having to run to the pool store to understand my test results and then feeling pressured to buy their brand products!!! This has SAVED me!!! I use a titration test bc I feel like there is too much error in strip test scanning. I LOVE that it allows me to customized what tests and what brand products I used. It suggests products, it tells me how to add them and how it will affect the water. It even lets me schedule all the maintenance and maintenance doses which is great bc I get busy and forget! I tell every pool owner I meet about this app and how I love that it has enough free features so I don’t have to spend MORE $ on the pool!! Get the app! You won’t regret it!!
