Vietnam Airlines is probably one of the better airline in Vietnam, however their app’s user interface is unintuitive and difficult to navigate. They should really invest in a UX/UI team to modernize the app: no easy feature to login, no Apple wallet syncing, no ability to quickly reference upcoming flights. International customer service number will ring then give you a prompt for “no one is available, please call again later” after 2 mins on hold. Honestly, either call them on their Vietnamese line… or send a messenger pigeon. If you’re lucky, you might get it resolved. Forget about whatever status you have with the airline, you’re basically economy when it comes to customer support.
What an embarrassment of an app from a national carrier. Every update fixes nothing substantial. I hope this will improve. The only function actually working is booking, the aesthetic, and nothing else. Cannot check in, a huge hassle to see and manage booking, cannot modify booking, cannot retrieve boarding pass, terrible frequent flyer management etc!? Almost everything has to be done in person like it's 1990s. Instead of using the notifications to spam customers , maybe try to make it useful with gate information, luggage information, trip delay info; nobody cares about all the promotion notifications when the web and mobile applications deliver such a sorry of an experience. Absolutely Unacceptable. No other airlines have this issue. Get your act together, get some competent and disciplined developers to get this to work, it really isn't rocket science. I want to support you, please fix it.
Vietnam Airlines is a national airlines, however, both website and mobile app have been designed badly, like for a private company. Even some ride hailing apps could do it much better. This review will be applicable for mobile app, but can be extended to web as well. After many upgrades, the app runs still unstably, loading data very slow. As a mobile app, the designers need to think how to fit with different mobile devices, support either portrait or landscape layouts. However, the app only supports portrait. Are the designers (AND/OR) Vietnam Airlines not thinking of the UI/UX before launching the app?
