I’ve been riding groups for years, and this app is a GAME CHANGER. Now I can find new groups, at home or on the road, and I always know what to expect. Every cyclist should have this app, and should be using it to create group rides of their own or find great ones nearby to join! I hope this thing blows up and everyone uses it. Move over Strava (Cycling)!
If you’re a cyclist that likes to ride with others, you really need this app. Whether you do routine weekly rides with friends or a club, or for planning unique rides with different routes or in different locations, this app allows you to plan your route, chat about details and to even see how the weather will impact your ride. It also lets you easily see the planned route and to transfer it to your bike computer. As someone who lives in the Houston area where Chasing Watts began and probably has its greatest concentration of users, it’s the best way for me to know about rides around town. If you’re in an area where the app is not used much, you should review the app using Houston as your location just so you can see what is possible. To my knowledge there is not anything else available that puts all the information you need to plan a ride in one place like Chasing Watts. Additionally the app is constantly being refined with additional functionality. Well done!
I love this app in place of having to search for rides on Strava. It eliminates the need to search and join several clubs that you may not (want to) be an active member of. And even for rides that don’t belong to clubs that people wouldn’t necessarily see on Strava anyway. I wish the app didn’t refresh and start you over from the top anytime you leave the app; even if for a second. I’d also like the option to save or star rides without the need to chose whether I’ll be attending that particular ride. Otherwise, it’s great.
