I like pension bee, I’ve found the service to be really good and I've recommended it to friends and family. I’ve found the app to be more than adequate, it’s relatively straight forward to navigate & easy to understand, not sure what else you need. I have a work pension and use my Pension Bee pension as a top-up. I would ignore the majority of negative reviews, their negative comments about the app are pretty baseless in my view. I like the fact it’s super easy to access, top-up and just generally play around with. Not sure what else you need!
Since making the move to self employed after 10 years of being employed with various pension pots held with different providers, I needed to get all my pensions in once place. This app has made it so much easier than I thought it would be and the personal customer contact has been excellent. They even found a pension I’d completely forgotten about and asked if I wanted to move that one over to the app too. Couldn’t be happier with the app and the customer service and have been nagging all my friends to do the same thing since!
I think the PensionBee service itself is quite good. However, it’s patently obvious that nobody involved in the development of this app actually genuinely uses this app for their own pensions. The retirement planner is a joke - none of the settings you set are actually saved. So the retirement projection chart (which would be really useful) is immediately reset to just whatever you happen to have with PensionBee, and doesn’t take into account other pensions or personal contributions, giving a completely useless number that’s got nothing to do with reality. Previously sliding the planner sliders would half the time accidentally send you to the previous screen, but they’ve fixed that, so maybe there’s hope for the retirement planner to one day be useful for... y’know, planning your retirement.
