We have really enjoyed Kinetic’s service, customer service has so far been great… BUT THIS APP Y’ALL! One of the features we were most attracted to, was the ability to disable the WIFI at night using the app. We have teenagers and younger children and we like the idea of just flipping the WiFi off as a safety precaution when we go to bed at night and flipping it back on in the morning - BUT THIS IS NOT SO. It takes sometimes 15+ minutes once you’ve toggled the WiFi off, for it to actually go off and it may not even work. You typically have to try over and over again. This morning (now afternoon) I have been trying to turn our WiFi back on for about 3 hours now, and it WILL NOT come back on. Also, you have to STAY on the “progress” screen, or it will stop progressing all together, so I have now spent literal hours trying to toggle our internet back on, trying to keep my phone screen from going to sleep, and staring at that stupid green screen willing it to come back on. Our internet shows that it is online and all is well, it just won’t let me turn the WiFi back on - the communication from the app to the router is insanely slow and sometimes it just doesn’t work at all. Who has time to sit and stare at the app, keep the screen awake, and wait and wait and wait for IF it might work? Sometimes it will even show its toggled “on” but if you refresh the screen it’s actually still off - there has to be a way to fix this. This feature is a huge draw for parents who prioritize internet safety for their children and it’s almost unusable! If I see the “unable to load, try again after some time” screen again, I’m going to cry!
I’ve used the app for a little over 8 months now and within the first 4 I had to utilize it for a wide variety of things and have been very pleased overall. I started to use the app right after I reopened my account in May of 2020 and I quickly had to learn the ins and outs due to multiple different situations and problems. I had to figure out how to use the troubleshooting chat feature to get my phone line up and active because it was not completely set up after my in home set up was perform. Then due to weather I had experienced an outage and again had to figure out how to utilize this app. A short time later I moved a town over and had to have my account transferred to a different phone number and address with a new equipment kit sent to me even though I already had an almost brand new kit. About a month later I had to transfer the account into someone else’s name and was able to use the app for a good part of the process before I had to call the technician to finish the process off. Being able to talk with an agent or at the click of a button the answer to your problem/question. Anything from service outages to receiving your bill early which makes budgeting ahead of time that much easier, to just being able to have all of your account info at anytime right at your fingertips. Very easily navigable. Very easy to figure out. Makes budget planning and bill paying easier. I especially like being able to choose to pay my bill even 3 weeks early if I so chose. No noticeable lagging or bugs. Well thought out and nicely put together.
Nice an easy so far. I have used this 2 months now so far it’s nice and easy let’s just hope it stays this way and nothing unexpected happens like we’re telemarketers calling more emails from places I’ve never seen or heard of credit card leakage anything out of the ordinary that as an avenue going through directly to the company that I’m working with instead of going to three different companies just pay a bill and remembering all the passwords to all these different places to login so hopefully it stays nice and easy I like it so far as able to login my amount was right there of that was due I hate Clickbait I pick the credit card the pain out and that was it easy Peezy.
