This app is absolutely trash, doors don’t open , it says I don’t have access to the doors. I went to my property management , they confirmed I obviously in fact DO have access. Deleted and redownloaded the app , now it won’t let me login and to contact the kastle customer service team. I sent them an email with my initial issues being unable to open the doors time stamped August 27th 4:56pm. GET IT FIXED AND GET IT RIGHT. Recently spoke to customer service August 28th 5:45am, lady was not helpful at all. Wasn’t able to address why I couldn’t login to the kastle resident app and suggested that I only had residential access meaning I couldn’t unlock any of the recreation doors. That is false. I was able to open all the doors no problem for maybe two weeks. She also stated I go to my property management and call them with all three of us on the line at the same time. Which I will do today August 28th. I will update after we all hop on the call together to resolve this issue.
I joined an apartment building that touted this app as a place to pay rent, submit maintenance requests, and unlock your door. At first all of those worked, but then around December of 2024 things started going downhill. It started with the door - it would no longer unlock. I asked the front desk about it, and they said it was a known issue they were working with Kastle on. A month later, the maintenance requests stopped working. The app would hang indefinitely once you tried to start one. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the app, but no dice. Finally, now i can’t even open the app. it just crashes. The latest update i see is from two months ago, so im assuming they’re calling it quits and riding out whatever contracts they were able to get when it worked. In case not and your apartment building is thinking of switching to this platform, strongly encourage them not to. It’s an absolute mess. It gives vibe-coded/contracted work, and at this point, I’d be concerned with any rfid fingerprints they have sitting in a database somewhere because i doubt they handled the security stuff well.
I don’t know why the property I live on chose to upgrade our entire system to this company when we were using fobs and Wi-Fi, which completely failed all the time. Regularly, the systems will shut down. They are garbage downloaded the app and was unsuccessful to get access as usual, and the moment I saw them saying that we were going to use this system by castle fully, I already knew we were doomed, again I don’t understand why the property will upgrade the entire system to this company when they are garbage downloaded the app and was unsuccessful to get access as usual. When I saw them saying we would fully use this system by the castle, I knew we were doomed. I don’t understand why they are still in business. Maybe because they’re the cheapest, property owners settle for them, but they have the worst service ever. They only got two good reviews out of all these reviews.
