History Hit

For those who began this app, thanks so much. It’s been an amazing and appreciated treat for history lovers like me. The one thing I find myself wishing though every time I watch is that the videos NEED a jump forward ten or 15 second button like on all other streaming services. It’s so easy to miss something said and to not have the ability to tap screen to jump back means we have to manually scroll back and then we watch many minutes more just to get where we were. I also wanted to say I saw a petition going around saying to boycott this page since its founder is not a real historian. Such nonsense! You guys are wonderful at teaching and that petition seemed very jealous when I saw it. Keep making good programming (truly hoping with more funding you’ll have more content and become a REAL streaming history channel in the way that the history channel lost a long time ago. Thank you!! Love the founder and love suzannah and all the new people you introduce us to. X

I have loved history since my early days and we had Social Studies classes. Other networks claimed to be history focused, but alas they gave in to the pressures of reality tv content and the world became a sadder place for it. Then I stumbled across your channel on You Tube and I submerged myself in story after story of amazing content. It dawned on me that there was an app, partly because it was mentioned every time I watched a video. Now I’m a subscriber, two days in and I fall asleep listening to dialog that seemed impossible to get. I’m in love! I want to tell the world about this app, so this is my attempt to hail your praises! My one concern is I hope you’re making a profit. The content is so well put together that it must be god awful expensive to produce. Hopefully my subscription will aid in reducing the financial burden. Once again, thank you for creating this amazing digital space.

I am a lifelong learner and history nerd, so History Hit feels like it was made for me. There is something for everyone, though! My kids enjoy listening to the podcasts because they’re relatively short and very informative. My husband is a big warfare history buff and he absolutely loves History Hit as well. **My favorite parts of this app: *1) There are no commercials! You don’t realize how many commercials other podcasts have until you come across one that doesn’t have any. I know many of the podcasts on History Hit are available elsewhere with advertisements, but let me tell ya… it’s worth every penny to not have to sit through them or press the 15 second fast forward button a dozen times. *2) There are so many things to choose from in this app. Want to listen to a shorter podcast on the drive to the store? There are a lot of options! Want to spend an hour deep-diving into your favorite corner of history? History Hit has got you covered! 3) I have added quite a few books to my library as a result of this app. Between source material and books written by the historians involved with various programs, there is no shortage of reading suggestions. It’s an unforeseen bonus! **My suggestion for improvement: I am hard of hearing and I would love to have subtitles on the videos and/or transcriptions for the podcasts. Most of the programs are fairly clear, but occasionally I really struggle to hear what’s being said. I don’t want to miss anything! Keep up the excellent work!
