My five year old loves this APP. I have tried many other ones to learn hiragana but this is the best as she asks to play everyday. You get twenty characters for free so you can try out all the features for free. My daughter played the free version for over a month. I just purchased the app to get all the characters.
We have tried many kana apps, and this one is hands down, the best. Itโs fun for my kids (keeps their attention with pictures), has variety in the games, instructs in Japanese (which you can read in either English, Thai, or Japanese), and spells out words. I like that it repeats each kana in different ways after learning how to write them. Itโs fantastic that it constantly says the pronunciation of each kana as youโre writing it. The only thing that I would update would be to say the entire word after it is spelled out, such as ใใใ instead of just saying each kana. Itโs not clear to little ones what the word is since they write slowly. Please make more apps! I would LOVE a Japanese version of โEndless Wordsโ (Endless ABC series) that includes longer sentences, sentence structure, and kanji for kids!
This app is simple, cute and easy to use. The concept is great and the lessons are simple for a child. I downloaded this because my children (5years old and 1 year old) are both half Japanese and we want them to learn Japanese. I am also learning Japanese and thought I could use this app to start off with. But I cannot get the sound to work on this app. It is obvious that there should be sound to this app and I have made sure that the volume on my phone is on high but the app is still silent. If there is a simple fix for this, please let me know! I would really like for my 5 year old to practice but if he canโt hear the sound the characters make then itโs pointless. Thank you!
