As a pensioner, and not always able to drive - or park when I get there - I and my wife both use Alpha either singly or together fairly frequently. The app is very useful as it means we don’t need to go to a cash machine so often just to ensure the fare can be paid. However with the recent snowfall rendering driving something of a nightmare - just getting from the front door to the kerb is a task in itself - we have had occasion to try to get around by taxi. But the app isn’t playing “Error has occurred: try again” it says - repeatedly - when the details are complete! My wife has a 20-minute journey to make to church for an important service tomorrow morning, and can I get the app to function? No! I have tried removing the app and reloading it which, theoretically, should wipe all my carefully-saved destinations plus my payment method but, when it returns, it’s as if the wiping has failed completely! What IS the matter with it???
Just downloaded the app a week ago and I have to say I am very impressed. Compared to the other taxi companies on Wirral Alpha seems to be the best. The drivers are so much more friendly and the cars are cleaner. They don’t keep hold of your funds for days, it goes straight back in after your journey. Other companies keep hold of it for days making money off you. I won’t be using anywhere else now, they only downside to this is that you can’t book a taxi from Hoylake or West Kirby yet as the service is currently unavailable in certain areas. But thanks Alpha 10/10
If I phone the company I get taxi (cash payment) pretty handy. If I use the app (card payment) I find it very hard to book a taxi. Today as an example... I booked a taxi through app... driver picked up job 4 minutes away... drove past my location (was watching on app) carried on driving further and further away... 2 minutes later he cancels my trip... took another 20 minutes for another driver to accept job
Alpha Taxis, Liverpool’s local taxi app, lets you book a taxi in just a couple of taps. Whether you’re going to the airport, the local shop, or acros...
