PA Weather

Weather apps are a must these days but it’s easier said than done finding a quality build. I’ve also noticed some change their forecast (rain/snow) % almost by the minute. I believe they’ve discovered it is a way to get users to check it more often and they use that increased traffic to sell ads but it’s less valuable to me. * The one main peeve on this build is requiring 2 fingers to pan or zoom the radar. This is a mobile app made to view on a mobile phone that is almost always being operated with one hand. Requiring 2 fingers defeats the purpose.

In order to tell this story we can’t start at the begging, we must journey back much farther. It was my birthday party, one of my earliest memories, there was friends, family and fun. It was a crisp, cool January night. I believe we had chocolate cake and to my dismay one of the candles’ wax melted on my finger and hurt me dearly. Now let’s fast forward about 13 years to the modern day. This weather app slowed down my phone when I first downloaded it, I was in the middle of an online poker game and I placed my entire college savings account on the line. I could feel beads of sweat running down my forehand, hands shaking uncontrollably and the only thing to take my mind of this senseless poker game was the weather. Since the app slowed down my phone on initial start up it kicked me out of the lobby during a hand I was inevitably going to lose thus wasting my entire life’s savings for college. Thank you PA weather action I sure learned my lesson.

Updated Review: While I gave it 5* when it first came out, I ended up deleting it around Springtime. It would never load past the 1st screen with the leaves. When I saw on Facebook the other day they finally updated the app, I figured I’d give it a try again. Big mistake!!!!! Immediately upon downloading & opening the app, it took me to a Safari website. Despite “X-ing” out of the website and returning to the app, it installed malware or some crap on my phone! I immediately started receiving spam emails into a brand new Weather email account, I did NOT install. Despite following Apple’s support suggestions on how to remove this imap email account, it still shows up in settings—accounts & passwords as an account! Per Apple’s instructions I deleted the profile it installed on my phone, but it still appears! There is NO way to delete this bogus Weather email account! There is no delete option! I was only able to turn this bogus email account off, so it shows as inactive and doesn’t appear in Mail app. I was also able to turn off the outgoing smtp server. It has a weird User Name like Melvabedriddendisbanded....(It gets cut off so the rest is unreadable). Host Name is an IP Address .imap .email something (again gets cut off). I now have to make an appointment to head to the Genius Bar for help! Do NOT install this newly updated app! Very pleased with this app. Just open it up & it shows my weather. No having to go through multiple tabs or drop down menus to get to the forecast. I didn't have any technical issues on my 6s Plus. I hope in the future, a widget is added. That will make it even better. Great job!
