REMI

Ever since the new app makeover the app is not usable. It takes 15-30 seconds to load each remi, and the sleep tracker almost never loads. Every action in the app has a non-zero chance of not completing. Very frustrating.

So my teenage son decided he wanted to stay up all night and sleep all day at school. I tried my best to get him on his sleep schedule but it was all so exhausting. I was wanting a way to track his sleep but also give him a visual cue for appropriate times to be asleep or awake. That’s when I found REMI. We’ve used this for a week now and things have completely turned around for us. I know this is intended for younger kids but this is great for a person with autism who has low concept of time- he can look right at the face and see if he’s supposed to be awake or asleep! I can use the baby monitor function to make sure he’s not sneaking his tv on in the middle of the night. The sound notifications allow me to know he’s in his room playing or watching a show and not taking an “illegal nap” that would throw his schedule off! It’s been a wonderful tool, and my son feels more responsible for his own sleep schedule now, he’s having much better days at school because he’s getting more rest and he’s having less behaviors! The REMI has had its glitches but they’ve seemed to be easy fixes and it has worked well for us! This app could be marketed to help the autism community!

Since it has updated, my WiFi won’t connect. I try to disconnect and reset the connection but it is in an infinite loop of saying it is disconnected, but then remaining “connected”. Everything worked perfectly before. Baby monitor even worked longer distances away. Looking forward to a fix that will restore my connectivity. The app blames it on my connection, but that has not changed a bit. Normally, I would rate this a 5, especially with the new Bluetooth speaker capability (that I haven’t gotten to try out yet). My son always looks to see if the clock is awake or asleep yet. The night light isn’t too bright. Love the 2 way baby monitor. The only issue I have is a small thing - when using the non-24 hour clock, the clock still shows a zero before the single digit numbers. It’s confusing for my son who doesn’t have a concept of time and numbers yet, and he keeps reading the zero in front of the number when reading the time. I have to keep reminding him that we don’t say the first zero. Just a small thing, but for kids, it’s frustrating.
