There's no way to link any of your Vitality or SK royalty or discount cards to your profile. It's tedious doing this manually when you should be able to select your loyalty and reward card like Vitality and SK from a drop down. Furthermore my date of birth is incorrect on my profile and it can't be corrected from within the app. Lastly I believe SK have become complacent in the last 3 or 4 years but not to worry NuMetro are catching up again and updating their app and offerings regularly, soon it will be a matter of preference and many SK loyalists (myself included) will jump ship.
Film posters are always portrait in format, though inexplicably, all the thumbnails in this app are landscape, showing only a cropped center portion of the original image. They also take up an inordinate amount of screen real estate, which doesn't aid the user in consuming information at a glance. The search function is completely unusable as once you tap the search icon in the header, a search field appears...but the keypad briefly pops up and almost instantaneously disappears again. Tapping "Cancel" only repeats that behaviour. You are then forced to restart the app as you won't be able to leave the search screen by any means within the navigation (which in itself is convoluted AF). The tabs and filter controls are clustered together and fiddly to use. Hidden navigation is never a good idea (that hamburger menu), regardless of what Google's Material Design guidelines state. The booking process is also not optimised for fingers where seat selection consists of having to try and tap the smallest seat icons in the world. The steps of the process itself are also not as obvious or discernable. NuMetro's app is slightly more usable, though they too offer more or less the same problems.
DON’t use this app for bookings! I booked 4seats for Star Wars and received a booking confirmation with a reference number on the app after paying with my credit card. Arrived 30 minutes early at cinema and was told they can’t find any tickets on that reference number!! Eventually staff said we should go into the theatre! We got our popcorn and as movie was about to start, other viewers entered with tickets for our seats!!! WTF!!!!VERY EMBARRASSING AND WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!! STER-KINEKOR GET YOUR APP IN WORKING CONDITION!!! Staff at theatre had no idea what to do, also need training in people skills! We had to leave and rebook at the theatre! Were not given any complimentary tickets for our inconvenience! They only refunded the popcorn, after me having to explain everything again! Very Disappointed!!
