Word Cube 2

Aside from rampant cheating which is pretty much unstoppable, this game is fun. I was looking to find an alternative to the discontinued Words with Friends lightning round which was my favorite game. My huge concern is the $15 instant game popup which appears randomly on the bottom of the screen and is so easily accidentally pressed. I’ve hit it many times and all of a sudden am playing a game I was ready for and didn’t want. It is an unlimited words game which is not the norm so if you do try and play you’ll suddenly realize you can’t take your time and by then it’s too late and you’ve lost your game and a big chunk of money. This is clearly an underhanded and intentional deception by the company and its programmers to prey on people so they accidentally start a very expensive game. I contacted Skillz and they refunded me for one $15 game. They stated “ Rest assured that this feedback will be forwarded to our dedicated team for review.” Well I deleted the game and was never going to play again. Unfortunately my ADHD brain couldn’t resist so I just started playing again and lo and behold I accidentally hit the $15 game popup and lost half my balance. I’m not going to contact the company for a refund this time that will not be justice and won’t help others. I told them originally I’m going to make it my life’s mission to use every resource I can (social media, BBB, attorney general etc.) until this intentional scamming stops. This review is the start of that process.

I really enjoy the Skillz games. You don’t need to spend any real money to enjoy the gameplay, and unlike many other games, you feel the games are fair and you are against real people, not bots, where you usually lose. There are no annoying ads, so the games flow without long wait time watching boring ads. (I always end up deleting those games)! I’m not so keen on the tournaments as there seems to be a long wait before you get results, but other than that, I can recommend this game.

I like this word game for a couple of reasons: 1. I like the online competition, as far comparing points and speed, while at the same time being able to make repeated plays and finish a game without having to wait for the other players to make their play. This is also a really good format for beginners, because it allows competing against your own best scores. 2. Sometimes in games where the game board is shared, I get distracted by words played by my opponents. I know thats part of the competition, however in some cases the words are offensive and even threatening. Personally I would rather play to try to expand my vocabulary, relax and have fun, not the contrary. So I especially like the way your game board is set up for this reason.
