Mubert is one of those applications that just blown me away, I genuinely loved how it executed the concept of having a generative music radio station (especially how the minimalism actually pulls through here.) However, there is one problem I am currently facing. Selecting a specific track within the "Faves" channel station shows only the name without playing the chosen music (and never does.) Also stopping me from selecting virtually any other channel. This is obviously fustrating, and I am hoping that there'll be a fix for this in future updates. Thank you for this service.
I was a paid customer but have left the service. I really loved the idea and thought the pricing was fair, and my initial reaction overall was positive. But lately I’ve been opening the app less and less because too often I end up with audio I dislike that doesn’t adapt to my feedback, or audio that sounds “buggy,” like the AI has stopped responding. I’ve tried to use the Like/Dislike buttons constructively to help personalize the service, but I don’t hear it helping, and it’s starting to feel like I’m interacting with static tracks that don’t actually have any dynamic AI element. Example 1: On one song, a distracting human voice started popping up to utter one phrase over and over. I gave the app a Dislike and waited for it to change, but it didn’t. I Disliked it again — nothing. I hit the refresh button to see if that would reset some parameters and change things up, but got the voice again. I finally gave up. Example 2: Another song started off fine and I was really digging it, but then slowly all but one element of the song just… went away… leaving behind only a synthesized “waves crashing” sound effect over a bed of nothingness. I tapped Dislike. No change, still just waves crashing. I tapped Dislike over 20 times. Still just waves. I hit the refresh button, and then the track stopped playing entirely. I restarted the app and went back to that song and got the exact same experience, where after maybe 30 seconds all the elements faded out to leave just waves crashing.
As the title states, I love the Mubert app! It’s one of my favorite apps & I use it daily. The small issue I am experiencing though is in the favorites section of the app. I’ve made an account, signed in with my email, and when I select new daily, or experimental stations, to add to my favorites, it adds them, however, after you fill up the screen/page (about 10 stations) the newly added stations get added lower on the page but they cannot be accessed. There needs to be a way to scroll down to access these stations. Again, this is probably not a big issue for most, especially if they don’t sign in and make an account and then add stations. I’m sure someone else has encountered this, too...so hopefully there will soon be a fix for this. Otherwise, this app is great! New updated version (December 23, 2020). Nope!!! It was better before this new updated version. They say they’ve added new, more music...yeah, if you want to buy/pay for it! Many of the channels that were free before this update you now have to buy/pay for! I see the beginning of the end here with an app that was one of my favorites. What else can I say? This just comes across as a pure greedy move by the developers. If they had added new music channels as pay options, cool. But to take away ones that were free all along and now charge you for them...get lost! My original 4 stars is down to 2 stars (unless Mubert realizes this and changes it back).
