This app I have had installed from my parents for years and at this point it’s not even when I get grounded (which is never) my parents are getting to much power over my phone from this app I don’t see the the point in even giving your kid a phone if your just going to block them all the time with this app and it make parents feel like they have all power and control they block me at night which I don’t understand cause personally I don’t think sleep schedule matters especially when I get blocked and still can’t sleep it seriously doesn’t help and personally I think whoever invented this app was only thinking I’m going to make parents feel like they have all power and children/teens are not humans with feelings i fall asleep better when I’m on ft with someone and it takes that away from me and at this point I’m even getting blocked at night on weekends and maybe the inventor of this app was only thinking of their children which I feel bad for because I just know that child feels like their personal life doesn’t matter to their own birth givers so if your a parent that has this apps o would go check on your kid and ask about their opinion and feelings and then delete this app NOW!!!!!(honestly if you don’t your kid will never feel like they have freedom and may stop talking to you lol) this is coming from a teen who has grown up with this app (and also if the inventor of this app doesn’t have kids then I would get a reality check cause that’s crazy)
As a person who has experienced this app OurPact jr. is a pretty good app to have! But there are a few glitches that I think the app should fix. It might say no schedule blocks, when there are, And parents need to have the right timings, because I do believe that this can make you and your children have a not so Pleasant relationship. And when it comes to the ages of 13,14 I believe you should just have a talk, and set something up so they won’t always be on there phone. This app can be very annoying from time to time I must admit! If you forget to pause your time then it gets complicated because you have to ask your parent/guardian to give you more time which may I take a while. I personally think the app should make it so when you shut off your phone it automatically turns off. I’d also like to acknowledge that OurPact Jr. can change your Home Screen. Lets say you decorated your Home Screen both sections and your really happy with it! Well.. OurPact jr. Changes your Home Screen and to my personal feeling I get annoyed by this. Now I will be talking about some good things because I feel like I’ve been crapping this app. In reality it’s actually not a very bad app! If your a parent trying to help your kid manage there screen time this isn’t a bad app! I’d say try a few days with it and see if you like the app. I’ve had it for so long I don’t really mind it as much anymore. OurPact Jr. Is not bad at all! All though there’s minor glitches I’d say good to download.
For context I’m 15 years old and my parents have Our Pact on my iPhone SE (2nd Generation). I’m dislike Our Pact, I typically don’t enjoy when my phone gets blocked but I’m not here to complain about that. I want to suggest some quality of life issues that I think should be fixed or worked around somehow. The first thing is the app itself. Our Pact Jr. is not a great app in terms of user experience, the app often freezes or crashes and often when installing an app, it takes multiple restarts for it to show up in the app organizer making the process of just downloading an app laborious. The second thing about Our Pact is it’s lack of customization. As of IOS 14 iPhones became a lot more customizable with the introduction of widgets and app icon customization. Even though it’s been almost two years since the update released at time of writing (November 14th 2021), Our Pact still has not added support in the app organizer for this fairly basic feature. This might be because of how the app blocks the phone but I still would like to see it in a future update. The last thing is just kind of a personal nuisance but it’s still a problem. Web Links that are saved to the Home Screen won’t show up in the app organizer. So I can’t move them around and put them in the places I want to put them in. Anyway, those are my gripes about Our Pact Jr. that I hope will be fixed at some point. Thank you for reading this and I hope you have a great rest of your day
