Del Taco

I will give you five stars when I can use Apple Pay. Debit card transfers transfer information while Apple Pay transfers a temporary token and payment is settled later keeping user privacy. I would add my debit card but there is nowhere to do it. You have to do it after placing an order and then the app never saves it! For that reason I am deleting your app. When I see an update addressing the title of my review I will give you five stars and use the app again. Let me tell you how much I love Del taco restaurant. They grate their cheese fresh every day and cooked their beans fresh every morning. Taco Bell uses bagged cheese and dehydrated beans that they add water to. I was ashamed to work there. I could eat Del taco every day and I try to as much as I can. they give you lots of cheese and lots of everything for your money for cheaper than Taco Bell. Who gives you three little strands of cheese on your taco. The app has great coupons but is worthless to me because of the debit card/Apple Pay issues. Good luck and hopefully you will get better developers that can fix this problem because there are pages and pages of this on the Internet and then Reddit website.

Overall it works. But when finalizing a payment I end up at a processing step and it stays there. It doesn’t inform me that the transaction is done. Jan 8, 2025: I have an issue with this app. Since I started using this app. I’ve had my credit card information stolen. Twice. Del Taco is the only new location I had to use my credit card information the two months. There is no option for Apple Pay or similar option like with the other fast food apps. The second time I tried to use it on Christmas Eve. I was informed that the location was closed. I wasn’t charged for my food. But on the 26th my credit card was used twice by someone. The bank locked my credit card after I informed them of the disputed charges. Since then I haven’t put in my credit card number and I haven’t had any issues. I won’t use this app anymore until I can use it without having me putting my credit number in the app. Apple Pay or similar is needed. Feb 25, 2025: Since I haven’t used my credit card number in this app. I haven’t had anymore fraudulent charges done on my credit card. Somehow someone was using my credit card number when I enter the number in this app.

The app works ok for ordering most things, allows for food customization, and for choosing from several pickup/delivery options. Guessing it has a good internal user interface because when ordering through the app Del Taco has never made a mistake (unlike their main taco competitor). Giving it only three stars for a couple of reasons - 1)The app will not allow for ordering some food items, like the dozen tamales (when available, and limits one to only smaller portions). 2)Unable to use ApplePay - not sure what makes Del Taco think that I’d rather allow them to store my credit card or type it in every time over being able to use ApplePay. The second item is more of an issue for me, so if they at least fix that I’d give them 5-stars.
