SDR-Control for Icom

This is an incredible application which allows full wireless control of the IC-705 from an iPad. I had initial interest in running FT8 wirelessly while operating POTA. Since installing the app I have been amazed with its ability to do other modes as well. The waterfall display and control panel are very intuitive and easy to use. Moreover, the manual is well written and covers not only the setup of the software, but setup of the radio itself. I installed the app on my primary iPad and it worked perfectly. Then I installed it on my iPad mini and encountered problems connecting to the radio. I emailed Marcus and he very promptly responded with recommendations on fixing my iPad’s networking problem. I couldn’t be happier with this app and the service I received. The cost is well worth the value. Thanks Marcus. AA4GE

I’ve been really enjoying the Mac version of this app for several months, so I got this iPad version the moment it came out. So far I’m really happy with it. The ability to sit on the couch and pop on 20 for a little FT8 really changes the way I use my IC-705. It’s great! Having the full control of your radio from a UI like this is really an empowering experience. It takes a few minutes to find where all the options and settings are hidden (some things in ‘view’, some in ‘tools’ others in ‘settings’), but it’s all in there. I’ve configured mine to log to MacLoggerDX on my Mac as well as to iCloud so contacts go right into my standard workflow. I’ve been using AirPod Pros with good results for audio. I love the 3D earth maps for PSK Reporter and received signals. It really helps me visualize my signal propagation. Bottom line, this is a really fun app. If you have an IC-705, IC-9700 or an IC-7610, you should get this app. This app is great, but not perfect (yet). Here’s my wish list: • I’d love to see support for other modes like HF Fax, RTTY, PSK and maybe even JS8call or APRS decoding. • It would be wonderful to have a mode for operating remote for SOTA and POTA. I imagine a mode where it sense remote operation when you connect direct to the IC-705 WiFi and then it can calculate your grid square and maybe even look up your park number via GPS and log to a separate log file for that session. • I wish there was support for a physical keyer. • I really wish i could talk to other users. Could we have a Discord/Telegram/Slack/something to share tips and tricks between users and give feedback?
