Thumb Drift - Furious Racing

I’ve always loved this game, played a couple of years ago and decided to install it again. After seeing the reviews here lately I felt like I had to write my own because of the amount of lies and deception I have read. First, the ads. No, there aren’t too many ads. In fact I get 0-1 ads for about 20 minutes of play time, that is NOTHING compared to almost all free apps on the AppStore. You are given the option to double your coins by watching an ad once you die BUT YOU DONT HAVE TO. This game is very fair when it comes to ads and it saddens me seeing developers being trash talked for being “greedy” when they are being the opposite. The “drifting” aspect of this game. It’s not realistic, but it’s not meant to be. This is a game about difficulty, setting new records and unlocking cars. It’s not about the difficulties of drifting but about dodging obstacles and following a difficult track for as long as you can. If you came here for realism then this isn’t the app for you. Lastly I’d like to talk about performance. I read a few reviews talking about lag or crashes. This game runs perfectly on my IPhone 5 and my newer device as well. No crashing, no lag, no overheating. I really don’t know what device this could lag on. Overall this game is an incredible time waster and I hope this review helped some people. And good job devs, keep it up 👍🏻!

This game is very simple an clean. The animations and UI are snappy and easy to navigate. I understand this game isn’t supposed to be 100% realistic, but the way you control the car doesn’t make sense. For example, the more you drag to turn your car, the smaller the turn radius. In other words, no matter how fast you are moving or how sharp you turn, you always get the same “grip”. Making this game all about how fast you can react to the turns and how precise your timing is. It’s hard to explain but it just doesn’t represent actual drifting very well. And for an app purely based around drifting, it’s disappointing there is no more strategy involved besides swiping left and right really fast and trying to avoid walls. The game itself isn’t bad, but it’s a bit stale. Too bad they already released the game with these mechanics, now they can’t change them. It would be like Call of Duty changing to a third third person shooter (but obviously not to the same degree.) Well devolved game, just missing some logic. On another note, ads come up after every 5 or so attempts, (could also be time based, I don’t know) and they aren’t very intrusive to the game compared to other games I’ve experienced. Overall a decent game.

This game use to be my go to. Played it every day for a long time. I haven’t played it in a while but just started playing again and the amount of adds is ridiculous. For about every 5 seconds of drive time you have to sit through a 30 second add. It’s not worth it, yes it has a “remove adds” option but I didn’t download a “free” app to be forced to pay money to play it. Also I’ve noticed that the more you play a track it starts you off faster at the beginning. If you play enough consistently you don’t really notice it but trying to play it again after months of not touching it pretty hard to do now with how fast it starts me off. I confirmed this by downloading it onto my girlfriends phone and playing it for a while on there and it was pretty easy and slow going on her phone but on mine the second the car starts to move it’s flying. Also some of the cars don’t show up when you play with them. They’re fine in the selection menu but when you’re on the track all you see is the rectangular shadow of an invisible car.
