I absolutely love this app, especially on race days with the onboard cameras and radio. However, it’s extremely annoying trying to watch and listen to both on the app since the noise from the car on the onboard is so much louder than the radio. This has to be improved. I would love to watch and listen to both but I usually just end up listening to the radio communication. Very frustrating.

I have long enjoyed the excellent reportage on the IndyCar app. The extra features, including data on the drivers, teams, races, and tracks, are a nice bonus – as is the detailed background information on the sport and its rules. But recently the web designers have unwittingly ruined the app. It is now impossible to read news articles and size them on your iPad or iPhone. Instead, the app controls your screen space. There are wide columns of menus down the left-hand side that won’t disappear. I cannot read the articles anymore without first hunting for a pair of reading glasses or a magnifying glass. In fact, I don’t even bother anymore – I have stopped reading the app because it is so annoying.

The app has all things Indy in one place: news, schedule, race radio, live video from drivers, all FREE. It’s not perfect; the in car video was pretty choppy and digitalized, presumably because it is live and they are going 200mph. Also, the live info is pretty limited compared to the website: they show telemetry but don’t show any data aside from differential. It would be nice to see who has what tire, when last pit was, passes or push to passes left etc. But overall it is a nice addition to any fan. (Bonus you can control notifications so it doesn’t become annoying)
