Idle Pet Shelter

I’m a huge animal person and this game had quickly become my new favorite, I was electing to watch ads for new upgrades or additional perks at least 2 times every time I opened the app. However, after I got about halfway through my progress for the first shelter, I started getting absolutely BOMBARDED by pop-up ads. Mostly gambling ones, occasionally other games, but they’re super intrusive and annoying. You open the app and within maybe 30-45 seconds, BAM an ad for some scammy feeling app lol. It doesn’t stop there, it’s continuous even if you elect to watch ads. You’ll get out of one you chose to watch and get hit with another, it’s at least once every 60 seconds. I love the features of the actual game, the design is cute and the gameplay is fun, but I’m growing super weary of the ads. Maybe play without wifi if it helps, I’m unsure. I’d say my patience for this app with the ads may last a couple more weeks before I delete it altogether, there’s probably another version of the app somewhere with less pop-up ads these days. Would’ve genuinely been a 5-star review a few days ago before the ads 😭

I love this game. It has cute cats, good animations, great design, and a nice story. But recently, the updates have been getting more annoying. First, I enjoyed this game because it had no pop-up adds. All the adds you watched were completely optional. But there was an update a few months ago that added pop-up adds. I understand that it's how companies get money, but it makes gameplay more difficult. Second, I enjoyed an earlier version where you could have anyone adopt a cat and the income gain would increase the same amount. Now, you have to see if the people at your shelter have the right attributes for your cats. And if they don't, you either have to wait 20 seconds for a new person to show up, or watch an add to refill their stats. Thirdly, I enjoyed getting a clothing item for watching the adds when you wanted too. Now, there are only four outfits you could get for watching adds. Overall, this game is great. But the recent updates have not made me want to play the game more. In fact, they make me want to play the game less.

This game is really one of the cutest idle games. The art is cute and the functions are simple and easy. It’s easy to get coins which is used a lot for upgrading; I could leave the game for 5min and my vault could be half full already. Some of the time it takes to do certain upgrades can take a while and you can only upgrade one at a time so you would need to think about what you want to upgrade. I don’t have many complaints about the game itself but it would be nice if there was an account link feature for us to save our progress in case of anything. I had this game before but had to delete it for some reason and redownloaded it recently and had to start over. If they added a way to save progress the game would be perfect !!
