I love this app because I love cataloguing my collectibles. I’m almost obsessive about keeping as much information and details on my items, and this app is great for that. However, I still think it needs a little more work put into it tho. Some of the features are more difficult than they should be. And there are some small details, like the limit of only adding 4 photos to a item, some weird photo changing going on where my item photos change to others, the fact that I can’t see the entire title of the item I’m typing in (if it’s a long title) because the box is so small, a navigation error that doesn’t save a item and a few other small details that irk me. Also, **BE WARNED** that the offer price to buy more item space when you reach your max in a category is very deceptive!!!! They will offer you $9.99 for unlimited space in each category, but they don’t tell you that you can make a similar price purchase for unlimited space for all categories. Buy the time I had figured that out I had already purchased two categories. Pretty shady on their part to be honest. I think iCollect will eventually remedy the features and make the app a little more user friendly.
I use this app regularly to catalogue my large plushie/stuffed animal figure collection. It’s very useful and simple and makes it super easy to quickly take pictures of the item and form an alphabetical list of all of them. You can also sort your collection by color, type, category, pretty much anything! It’s really quite nice if you want to keep track of collectibles you care about. I also love how easy it is to convert a wishlist item to an owned item! Sadly I’ve run into a few bugs since downloading it almost 3 months ago: I have issues updating information on existing items, such as the retired date. Sometimes the fields will not fill in after saving. Usually a restart fixes it though. I also recently experienced a bug in which adding/saving new item, instead replaced an old item’s pictures with pictures from the new item, and deleting the new items information causing me to have to type it all in again >< These bugs do not occur frequently, and actually don’t deter me from using it at least weekly. It beats keeping track of everything on a notepad note! :)
I loved the Sort It apps. Everything you’d want in this sort of thing. Always so excited about how great they were, God knows how many people I turned onto them. I happily paid for the bundle as I knew I’d use many. Although first advertised to Sort It app users as a major new update to the Sort It apps, when icollect finally arrived it came with a new price tag as the developers decided it was too big of an expansion for just an update, so they created a “brand new app”. A brand new app that is capable of accepting all of my Sort It app info, but no more. As explained to me, I can continue to use the old apps, but they won’t continue to update them, therefore they will eventually become outdated and unusable. So, having been a loyal, free-advertising consumer for the Sort It apps, I was ready to get going! Except loyal, free-advertising consumers were going to have to pay all over again. Because it’s a new app. Not the update they originally thought it would be. Having gone back and forth with customer service, I now know that consumer loyalty isn’t particularly something they’re concerned about. So why won’t I pay again to use this company’s app? For the same reason you shouldn’t. When they decide again to do a major overhaul that’s too big for this app, what would keep them from abandoning this one, and just charging us for another one? Well, nothing really. They’ve already done that! So, loyalty begets loyalty. And I’m taking my time, money and loyalty, to those who will reward that with loyalty in return.
