It’s hard to change important aspects of one’s life I when you are 77 yrs old, went to a seminary for four years, and have been an active Catholic for most of that time-certainly the last 30 or 40 yrs at any rate. I mention this because it actually was my my approach to using this app. Even though I was totally conversant with a computer, I never once thought of it as a means of saying my daily prayers. I suppose one could say I was being a “purist”, but some how, little by little, I found myself recalling the admonition “to pray constantly”-something I didn’t do. So along comes the smart phone and I found this app in the App Store. My “purist” viewpoint p eroded when I realized I could pray the rosary with others almost anywhere and no matter what I might be doing when the Holy Spirit nudged me to say my daily rosary fixing breakfast, taking a shower, driving my car, and if I couldn’t remember which set of mysteries to pray at the moment, no matter, this app gently reminds me to pray the mysteries of the day, or to pray any of the mysteries I desire, at bed time (it’s amazing what a great sleep aide saying a rosary at bedtime can be). Praying with the students at Franciscan friars I University in Steubenville, OH, is actually quite pleasant. My only drawback is that I wish the developer included the Mercy Chaplet, as well. It’s such a powerful, powerful prayer that I think the developer has not given other choices in saying the Holy Rosary.
Although I like the voices because it sounds like a family praying together, there are mistakes in when certain prayers are being prayed and not prayed. The Fatima prayer should not be prayed after the first three Hail Marys. Our Lady of Fatima asked us to pray that prayer after each Mystery not after the first three Hail Mary prayers. Also, the last prayer after the Hail Holy Queen is missing. After the HHQ, we should pray, “Let us pray. O God, who’s only begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life. Grant we beseech Thee, that by meditating upon these mysteries of the most Holy Roasry of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.” I would like to suggest that you have an image of Mary in the front when the initial prayers are prayed instead of having the image of the mystery right off the bat. It would be nice to also add Rosary beads off to one side so that we know on which Hail Mary we are and to feel as though we actually have a Roasry. An image of Mary at the end of all the mysteries and while the Hail Holy Queen is being prayed would be very nice too. I also pray a Pater, an Ave, and a Gloria at the end (after the HHQ and Let us pray “O God” prayer) for the Pope’s intentions. Could you add those prayers at the end as well? The best part of this app are the voices! 5 stars for the voices alone! But the whole app itself needs much improvement. God bless you for even having and creating this Roasry app. We need the Rosary now more than ever. So thank you for that.
I was at church three weeks ago and I forgot my rosary. I wanted to say the rosary but didn’t have it. The old rosary app I had with my iPhone was gone after the iOS update. Didn’t work. I bumped into this app by accident. Downloaded it in the solemnity of the church I was in. I was stunned. When I opened it, I didn’t realize that it was an audio file! I felt quite good praying the rosary with this app and with my iPods on. Truly felt like I had my family with me. The audio recording was very eloquently recorded. It’s just a gift you know. I can be on my own and feel that I am with a community, praying the rosary together. Beautiful. Thank you! -Becha P. San Francisco, CA
