I’ve alway preferred searching gumtree on the ipad (pro) but recent updates have made it unusable. With the loading google ads in the feed every 4-6 listings, the feed shuffles as you scroll, reordering the listings. This actually causes a white flicker/refresh this is exhausting on the eyes. In addition it’s reorders the placement of the listings as you scroll. So, as you see a new ad appear it bumps a listing from the bottom all the way to the top almost out of view. The devs really need to spend some time using their app to see if it meets their expectations?
The last couple versions have a pretty bad performance issue that when I scroll through the ads it would often get stuck, sometimes for just a few seconds sometimes I would have to kill the app and reopen. It doesn’t happen when I scroll through the top of the list but the deeper it goes down the list the more often it would happen. It could be related to the ad contents inserted between the normal items. Anyways, if you can put the heavy contents loading job on a background thread instead of the UI thread it should fix the problem.
Very perfect website for buy & sell & really fixed bugs , anyway no problem still i use it from 3 years
