I was a bit apprehensive on my first attempt at charging my EV at a public charger but, with this app, it was a doddle. I used Apple Pay so just followed the app and the whole thing was easy. I’ve only used it this once so there may be some functionality I haven’t yet discovered but it occurs to me that it would be great if you could specify a target charge level (e.g. 80% ) and set up a notification at a user specified time before that is reached and then another when it has actually been reached and then you could just go off and do whatever without monitoring progress. Apologies if you can do this already and I just haven’t found out but the app would get 5 stars if this could be done.
I honestly can’t wait for my EV to go back now the worlds returned to normal as not worth the hassle. 4 years in on the main car, and the town run around we have is perfect as it only gets charged at home. The problem is public charging. It’s wildly expensive, not clear like with petrol and often says ‘fast charging’ yet anything but, but will still take you 89p per kw even though gives you a slow charge. I’ve only ever had speeds quoted once on a charger in 4 years. The design of the machines is poor - “I know; we’ll put the card reader at knee height and the screen at waist height”. They’ll argue it’s for accessibility but that alienates 99% of customers - have disabled specific chargers! I won’t be returning to EV until all rapid chargers, all have signs on cost per KW like you get with pence per litre on fuel. It’s just a massive gamble on cost and stability as it isn’t going to charge at the speeds quoted. A 4.5 hour drive that was through Scotland and only 250 miles but had some elevation took one 1hr charge then a further 30 minutes as the first charger although a ‘fast charger’ was only 23kw on a 200kw advertised machine. Had to drive 60 miles to another to get a full charge in 30 minutes. Takes mick!
Not a shabby offering for an EV charging app. After some initial wrinkles the app works very smoothly. It gives real time data on charging progress which is a very useful when leaving the car to go for a pit stop. You can chillax with a cuppa and a sticky bun whilst the iron horse re-charges its batteries. Data about charger status I.e are the chargers working , is very accurate which is a must for me and this app tells the driver which chargers are available with absolute accuracy. I would definitely recommend using this app. 😁👍
